BEAM Central Vacuum to be Featured in Builder Concept Home 2011
ORLANDO, Fla. (October 21, 2010) – A BEAM Serenity™ QS Central Vacuum System by Electrolux will be among the indoor environmental quality features of the KB Home GreenHouse™: An Idea Home Created with Martha Stewart that will be unveiled in January 2011 at International Builders’ Show in Orlando.
In addition to the home design from one of the country’s leading lifestyle experts, the KB Home GreenHouse will demonstrate to consumers that this environmentally friendly home not only provides a healthy living environment, but also saves energy and water through the use of solar and thermal systems and meeting EPA's WaterSense for new homes specifications. It will be the first net-zero energy, single-family home in the Concept Home series produced by Builder magazine since 1998.
“Central vacuum systems are an important component of green building because they completely remove contacted dust and allergens from the living area,” says Larry Hartley, vice president of sales and marketing for BEAM. “We’re delighted to partner with Builder magazine, KB Home and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia to enhance the indoor environmental quality of the KB Home GreenHouse.”
“Teaming up with KB Home, one of country’s premier homebuilders, and incorporating Martha’s incomparable style and eye for functionality has been a fantastic experience,” said Boyce Thompson, editorial director for Builder magazine. “We’re always looking for new ways to showcase the latest and greatest in building technology and KB Home’s efficient designs and industry leadership in the field of green building have allowed us to do exactly that.”
The home will open for tours beginning Wednesday, January 12, 2011 for attendees of the International Builders’ Show. In addition to live on-site tours, an online virtual tour will be available for those unable to make it to Orlando.
