Beam® Central Vacuum System Featured in “Green” Vision House Central Vac Chosen for Indoor Air Quality Improvement ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – March 13, 2006 – A Beam® Serenity® Plus Central Vacuum System is among the featured products in the Green Builder® VISION House ‘06, a home built to showcase state of the art in indoor air quality, energy efficiency and sustainable building practices. The show home was among the featured attractions at the 2006 National Green Building Conference, an annual event of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). It also will be home to numerous green building demonstrations throughout 2006. The 4,000 square-foot home west of Albuquerque was built to meet NAHB’s Model Green Home Building Guidelines. Products installed in the home were chosen to demonstrate that builders can construct a cost-efficient “green” home without sacrificing functionality or aesthetics. In addition to serving as a site for tours and demonstrations during and after the conference, the VISION House ’06 will also be featured in Green Builder®Magazine. The Beam Serenity Plus Central Vacuum System and the accompanying Beam Advocate™ electric power brush, cleaning tools and accessories were installed by Albuquerque Sound and Vac. In a recent study of allergy patients conducted by the University of California, Davis, Medical School, use of the Beam system was shown to reduce allergic symptoms forty (40) to sixty (60) percent, compared to using a conventional vacuum. “Beam is an indoor air quality leader and a valuable addition to the Vision House,” says Norm Schreifels of Sun Mountain Construction, who designed and built the VISION House in collaboration with Green Builder Magazine. The ability to systematically eliminate allergens from the living area is essential to assuring healthy indoor air. The New Mexico project is the latest of several demonstration homes to showcase the Beam Serenity Plus and its indoor air quality contributions. The system also has been installed in demonstration homes at the International Builders Show and several homes featured in magazines and on television programs such as “This Old House,” “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” and programs on the HGTV and DIY cable networks. Beam Central Vacuum Systems are manufactured by Beam Industries, a division of Electrolux Home Care Products, Ltd., and are sold and installed by independent dealers in more than 45 countries around the world.
