WEBSTER CITY, Iowa – Home builders and building contractors have rated BEAM by Electrolux as the highest quality central vacuum systems on the market and the second most widely installed brand in new U.S. homes.

“Builders insist upon reliability and performance in the products they offer to new home buyers,” says Larry Hartley, vice president of sales and marketing for Beam products. “Our consistent top-quality ratings are a testament to the fact that builders and homebuyers have had great experiences with their BEAM Central Vacuum Systems. They know their systems will deliver excellent performance every time.”

The ratings were compiled from a nationwide survey of builders, builder-developers and contractors who subscribe to Builder magazine. The survey sponsored by Hanley Wood, the publisher of Builder, was conducted from mid-September through early November 2009 and determined respondents’ familiarity, usage and opinions of brands in 81 product categories.

To determine builders’ quality preferences, respondents rated central vacuum brands on a scale of one to seven, with seven being “excellent.” BEAM earned an average score of 5.86, or 0.32 percent higher than its nearest competitors.

Hartley credits continuous innovation combined with the support and service of an outstanding dealer network for BEAM’s consistent leadership in product quality.

“BEAM was the first central vacuum system clinically proven to relieve allergies and we continuously work at setting new standards for cleaning power, filtration, convenience, quiet operation, and reliability,” Hartley says. “It also was one of the first 17 products certified green by the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) Research Center.”

Because of their contributions to improved indoor air quality, the NAHB’s new national green building standards awards five indoor environmental quality certification points and the US Green Building Council’s LEED for Homes Program awards one point to homes equipped with Beam Central Vacuum Systems.
