INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Members of the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association, CEDIA, will gain new understanding of central vacuum systems and strategies to successfully integrate them into their installed products business, under a series of initiatives sponsored by Electrolux Central Vacuum Systems. Electrolux Central Vacuum Systems, maker of Beam Central Vacuums, also announces it will support networking events including CEDIA’s 2008 Management Conference and participate in the CEDIA Expo, the leading trade show for companies that sell and install electronic systems. “We look forward to helping CEDIA members become more aware of central vacuum systems,” says Margaret Sheehan, CEDIA’s director of professional development. “We believe the programs will help dealers determine whether these products are a good fit for their business and learn strategies that can help them successfully integrate central vacuum systems into their business model.” Electrolux Central Vacuum Systems will provide several complete systems and education materials for CEDIA’s permanent Boot Camp training facility. Additionally, the company will work with CEDIA to design a training course for which members can earn continuing education credits. Larry Hartley, vice president of marketing, says the course will teach participants the basics of central vacuum systems as well as how dealers can market and install them. “We’re excited to support these new initiatives with CEDIA to enhance support for our growing Beam dealer network and to equip other custom installation dealers to consider adding central vacuum systems to their installed products portfolios,” Hartley says. Central vacuum systems are among the fastest growing home products, with penetration approaching nearly one-third of new luxury homes and one-fifth of “move-up” homes. Hartley says increasing custom electronics dealers’ awareness of the systems and how to install them is essential for the central vacuum industry’s continued growth. “We see our support of these programs as a win, win arrangement for dealers and central vacuum customers. The training dealers can get from CEDIA will equip them to offer high-margin products that are in growing demand by builders and homeowners,” Hartley says. Electrolux Central Vacuum Systems is the world’s leading producer and marketer of built-in central vacuums. The company’s Beam, Electrolux and Eureka Central Vacuum Systems are sold in 50 countries around the world. Electrolux Central Vacuum Systems is a division of Electrolux Home Care Products North America.
