WEBSTER CITY, Iowa
– June 21, 2006 – Pledging to work toward making central vacuum systems a staple in new American homes, Russell S. Minick has become the third president of Beam Industries, the central vacuum system division of Electrolux Home Care Products.

“Throughout its nearly 50-year history, Beam has grown to become the undisputed technology and market leader in the central vacuum industry,” says Minick. “My goal is to help move the company to a new level in which nearly every home is equipped with a central vacuum system.”

Minick comes to Beam from HNI Corporation, where he most recently served as president of The Gunlocke Company. There he helped turn Gunlocke into a leader in wood office and conference furniture. At Beam, he succeeds John Coghlan who retired in March.

“Russ is a hands-on leader. He has delivered results in a variety of business settings,” says John Case, president and CEO of Electrolux Home Care Products. “His sales, product development and brand expertise will help us achieve our goals.”

Minick says Beam is committed to achieving a goal of having 75 percent of all new U.S. homes primed for central vacuums by 2010 and to continue to grow ECHP’s market leadership in Canada and internationally.

“Our products are important contributors to green building. Consumers want a healthier living environment and we can help builders provide it,” Minick says.

Beam Industries is the world’s leading manufacturer and marketer of central vacuum systems. Approximately one-third of all central vacuum systems are produced at Beam’s Webster City, Iowa plant. The company also is the global market leader. Beam, Electrolux and Eureka Central Vacuum Systems and accessories are sold in more than 45 countries.
